Anya is a children’s book author and illustrator. She holds a degree in restoration and painting from a university in Moscow.
She worked as a restorer of icons and paintings in Moscow’s museums. After having two children, she decided to focus on what she had always loved most - drawing. She received personalized training from two teachers at Anglia Ruskin University and Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design (UK).
Anya has always enjoyed creating detailed illustrations - restoration, she believes, taught her perseverance. Today, she works in children’s book publishing and editorial design.
Anya has collaborated with international clients, including the Moscow-based publishing house Abrakazyabra, the Circle by Circle Montessori brand (Taiwan), the Zoological Museum of Moscow University, the charitable organization Nasiliu.Net (No To Violence),
the human rights organization OVD-Info, the feminist group FAR, and a clothing and souvenir brand from Latvia.
She has completed several picture book projects. In addition to creating children’s books, Anya loves designing patterns, and she often creates cute, funny, and heartwarming illustrations for magazines. She also designs children’s and women’s apparel featuring her own patterns.
Anya hopes her illustrations and stories bring smiles and empathy to young readers. She says, “love it when children laugh at my pictures.” Her two children, Teo and Geo, inspire her to create new, funny, and delightful illustrations.
